Valentines

For Valentines Justin and took me out to Spark Restaurant and got their 5 course valentines dinner. It was REALLY good. Super yum. Super expensive. But seriously--dang good. We probably wont do it again just because it's just too much money, but it was fun and delicious while it lasted! Sadly, me being pregnant (that's what I'll blame it on) I felt like I needed more than 5 courses...or just more in each course...to be "full". I might be turning into a whale. So i got home from my 5 course dinner and felt like I needed to just eat. Great. And I'm dum for not taking any pictures---i even tried to sear in my brain to take pictures; and i STILL forgot. Sad.

I also wanted to document that i did these cute notes for Justin--left them places he would find and such. You cant tell on the picture but the black parts are velvet stuff--real cute paper, more than half the reason i did them...:) Anyway, I got a girl at his work to leave them all over while he was at work all day (plus a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper--his favorite, and Salt and Vinegar Chips--also his fav.) and then i did the notes at home. It worked out good--it was fun because he kept thinking they were done coming and he would call or text and say "thanks for the notes!" but then they would just keep coming. So that was fun, he seemed to really like them.

My Valentine gave me this cute apron,
below is how it will look after i have my baby...

I got Justin this shirt that he has been wanting.
And then, like i said, we had a REALLY good, expensive, light, dinner. Light in full-ness, not in calories, I'm sure...:)

AND on Saturday my sister Chanel and I made Valentines cookies for the fam.

That's all for our Valentines celebrations; It was pretty fun this year.:)

I'll post pictures of Jax and his cuteness soon...He is SO cute. What i need to do is video's, those are even cuter. We'll see if either happen.

Savers

So I never really go to Savers--I like the idea a lot, but sometimes i just think, "you want me to pay $10 for this dirty USED thing??".  And, DON'T get me wrong---I REALLY don't mind used things in the SLIGHTEST. Gross things yes, used things, no. Seriously, I'm one of those weird people that can look and look and look through crap for that "one" thing. And i really like it. But, the thing is that i can be pretty good at finding deals with things that aren't already used. Or, for example if I'm buying used clothes--I'm going to hit up Plato's Closet before I needle through the haystack at Savers.
Anyway, I don't mind a used thing, but i dang well better not be able to find a new, un-used one for cheaper. Get me?
Like, sometimes, at least in the clothing category, I think DI and Savers are kinda swindling and picking on the poor people and/or the people that really like a good deal and might still be poor (under which category i fall) and so i like to stick it to 'em by not shopping there; because they really care where i shop. Cause i have tons of money. ;)
ANYWAY, the real post starts now.
I took some stuff to Saver a little bit ago and they gave me 20%  off coupon (of the ENTIRE purchase) for it. Sooo, that really enticed me, nothing i like better than a good coupon. % off entire purchase coupons are like gold...:) I was pretty sure I could find a good deal on something AND get an extra 20% off my entire purchase.
And I will say that  I've never had such a successful shopping experience at any thrift store in my life. So that's good news. :)
This is what i got...and seriously, i would have gotten more stuff--but sadly, even at Savers, I'm not made of money.
I have promised myself that if i ever had the opportunity(saw a good deal) i would purchase one of these. They don't even have a real name that i can find, but they entertain kids of all ages. You can find them online under "Doctor Office Toys", which is the first thing i googled, because that is what they are...Mine doesn't look the same as this one--but it's close (Jax is sleeping in his room with his--so i don't have a picture). And mine didn't cost $90 like this one. Mine was $5. Seriously, who is doing the pricing at Savers?? I saw some nasty jeans for $12 and then this was $5. Whoever it is, keep it up! Anyway, it has little trains and cars for some of the beads--Jax loves it.

Jax is a one pair of shoes kid. So it's always kinda strange when he goes to church looking so sharp in a shirt and tie and then he's wearing his dirty little brown converse shoes. So, i guess I know that it's all my fault he's dressed that way and i really have no good excuse...even now I'm sitting here thinking "why have you never gotten him Sunday shoes"?...I only have one child, what IS my problem...how embarrassing...He didn't even wear Sunday shoes at my brothers wedding...I'll stop now, i hate feeling guilty. Point is, he now has Sunday shoes... Again, not an identical picture to the one i bought, but close enough. They really are in good condition. All i can say is that they were $2.

This, as you can see, is the real deal. Well, just the real picture. Is this clock not gorgeous? If it's not quite your taste is it $5 gorgeous? All of the sudden your singin' a different tune. :) But i liked it before i saw the price...the price just made it that much better. And seriously, it totally works---that little gold hangy-ball really goes back and forth and makes a little soothing ticking noise. And it's a pretty big clock; probably about a foot and a 1/2 in length. $5. Amazing. Again, who's pricing things at that store...?

We need a baby swing because we borrowed my sisters with Jax and she is having a baby at the same time as me, so she will be using the swing that is hers. We really didn't want to spend a bunch of money; cause who likes to spend money on a baby swing. But we knew we needed one; we kinda just thought we would get one on Craigs list or KSL...but they're still expensive. gawl. THEN, at Savers, amongst all these dirty, ripped, smelly things; i see this like new (I'm serious), clean, flawless baby swing. And $28 later I'm like, ummm, I'll take it. AND it swivels so that you can be swung front to back, or side to side. AND it does nature sounds. AND it's neutral colors. AND it works. But don't tell: we looked online and it has like 2.5 out of 5 stars...but that was the people that paid like $90, don't you think only paying $28 makes it double in the amount of stars...? I say yes.

Lastly, this is a large red race car mustang. It's like a foot long. Jax thinks it's awesome. So do i, cause it was $3. These things are normally like at least $12 folks.

I have buyers regret for not picking up a 2T gap Jacket lined with fake fur for jax...$6. Went back the next day for it, it was gone. There was also this REALLY cool plant. I even went back to get the plant --only 15 minutes later-- and it was gone! You gotta be aggressive at these kinds of stores... But you don't wanna impulse buy because they don't really have a shining return policy...among other things...
I think I'm planning on hitting Savers up more often...hopefully it serves me well.:)

Anyway, so happy that i got the things i did that i wanted to share. It was a good day in the Gause house that night--full of Clorox sani-wipes and smiles. :)

PS. Can i talk for 2 seconds about the darn Savers price stickers that don't come off---can they not find a better sticker? Can they not put the sticker in a more inconspicuous place; IE. underneath an item.? Do they need to have 4 little cuts in between each corner, so that if you get a good peal-off going it only lasts to the middle of the corner? I don't get how they can have the WORST stickers invented...why don't they just use super-glue? You have to use a razor to get it off anyway. That might be one of the reasons they cut you a break on the price--they know your going to be going at the sticker for like 2 hours at home, maybe they feel bad. I'd like to think so.

And for good measure, here are pictures of my favorite little guy...

I got my hair cut.

My hair was really a bad length. I've been trying to "grow it out". Never a good idea for my face. But I've  always wanted long hair, to curl it and things. But with me being like 6 months preg, my growing out "bob" really wasn't working to my advantage. Even my sweet husband was like "you really need a haircut" and he accidentally said I looked like Gene Simmons, So I went and chopped it. Best idea ever. I don't know why this picture is so small, but you get the idea. So that is my fun new thing.
Also, i got glasses---not like wear all the time glasses but for night driving and to see things far away. I've always had really good vision; but I'm loosing the far-away sight a bit. kinda sad.

My dad's 50th birthday was Saturday; I made him a "50th Birthday Gift Basket Box - Nostalgic Candy:1961"
That was fun. And how weird is it that they don't sell Now and Laters at Macey's, Harmons, or Smiths.
Anyway; someday I'll get the pictures off my camera and onto our computer. Our unstable-might-explode-at-any-minute, literally, computer.

Question

So really quick; does anyone have any really good ideas/books/articles/ways to potty train a boy? This amatuere (me) is thinking she's going to potty train Jax before the baby comes in May...I've got to; among other reasons, buying diapers for 2 children is a little expensive. And by "a little" I mean its enough to brake the bank.:) So, please help if you can. It's got to be possible. If it makes a difference, he is 20 months old.
Side note: Jax got his 1st haircut on Saturday; hopefully I'll post pictures someday...it looks like 30x's better.:)

Some of December...

Remember how Justin had a birthday? It should be addressed. Sadley he has a lame-o wife that documents nothing except jax occasionally, so here is a Justin post. Cause it's like 100 to 1 post of Jax than of Just. If that makes sense. Dear me. Anway,
The blest day was Dec. 17th. He HATES being born that close to Christmas. I hate it too. :) We had fun; didn't do anything major---he would have LOVED to go snow mobiling but we couldn't find a good deal. So we went to the Harvest Resturant at Thanksgiving Point, sooo up-ity.:) If your not going to spend your money on snow mobiling, spend it on an expensive resturant.  I had the most delicious/most expensive salomon i've had in my lifetime. Happy Birthday to me! I was in heaven. :) Justin liked his too, he got this plate full of steak stuff. But mine was better...poor birthday boy.
Then we grabed some ice cream at the little creamery there. I got the "hot chocolate float" with mint chip ice cream. Justin just got mint chip ice cream, because that is what he ALWAYS gets. Don't ruin a good thing.
Then we went to see The Tourist, at the mega-plex. That was really fun. Good movie. Good looking people. AND to top it all off, because it was Justin's birthday, we DIDN'T get stuck in the snow like so many other people on our way home. Hurray! It was a good time had by all. Gotta love those quality dates.
Thanks for watching the chitel mom! Thanks for being born Justin! And for taking me out on such a lovely date on your special day. :)
Here is the one grainy photo i got on my phone of Justin's celebration at my parents house 2 days after (he's with his niece Katelyn). That dinner at my parent's house is a whole-nother blog entirely...I cooked my little brains out. Anyway, One picture. I'm the bomb.
Sorry babe. But I LOVE you! You lucky duck!
(this is 3 years ago. Just a cute picture in trubite to his birthday:)

Walking on his hands

So all the sudden jax is doing this weird walking on hands thing. It's really funny in person. He thinks he's pretty cool. So do I. :)

Cute video

So this movie is typical Jaxton stuff, he's a funny kid. H-a-l-a-r-i-o-u-s.  He is SO, SO cute guys. And it's kinda sad because he is gettin all mom-clingy and so mostly I'm the only one that see's a lot of his cuteness. Cause he can really be quite the ronch(sp?) to everyone else. He's got serious attitude. BUT he is talking SO much more now-a-days (as shown in the video) so a lot of the frustration from not being able to communicate is lessened. Kind of.

18 month stats

Jax had his 18m. check-up. Here are the figures:
Weight: 27lbs, 71%
Length: 33inches, 72%
Head Size: 20inches, 99%
At his check-up a lady came and talked with me about doing this a flu vaccination study with Jax. I guess they are trying to add one more strain to the current vaccine and they are doing some of the testing/study at my doctors office. I was a little freaked out initially because of the word "study" and they had to take a tsp. of Jax's blood in the beginning and at the end (2 months later). But, after discussing it with my doctor (who was not affiliated) I decided to do it. My doctor thought it was a REALLY good idea to get him vaccinated, and the study did just that. So i did it,  #1-because they vaccinate him for free (normal flu vaccine and the H1N1 and possibly that new strain--no one knows if he got one with the new strain or not.); #2-because they give you $150 after it's all done (slight perk). So anyway, i've had to do this "journal" for a week; take his temperature every night, watch for abnormal behavior, check the injection site and such. He didn't seem to have had any reactions. So that is a relief. He doesn't really react to stuff very much, kinda like me; stuff just normally does what it's supposed to in my body. He rarely runs fevers. he is always like 97.0 degrees. not even 98. And i never have fevers either. My family just doesn't really get them...a fever for us is like 100; and that means we are pretty sick. Sorry; I'm rambling.

Look how cute!
Jax doing a silly face with the Christmas tree that he "helped"  me decorate like a big boy. :)
Ps. He is all over that tree. K, and i mean, i can see the draw, it's gotta be tempting, but really I cant believe it hasn't fallen over. Lets all pray it makes it till Christmas...:)
It's a little bleary because I took the picture with my phone...
Love this little trouble maker!
Ps. If anyone has any cool disciplinary tactics for 18 month olds do share. I'm loosing that battle FAST. He seems to be un-affected by everything...

Dont read if you don't want to see a side profile of a drawn bum....

Firstly, here are some recents of Jax...he is a big boy. Poor kid gets really bored REALLY fast. And sadly, he has a mom that doesn't entertain, at all. So you can imagine...He has a recent MAJOR obsession with Thomas the Train. Like he wants to watch 24/7--you don't believe me i know, just ask my mom or husband. He is just SO busy. SSOOO busy. He has his 18 month appointment on Monday. He's just growin right up. He is pretty coordinated, he jumps really well on my parents trampoline, and can jump with both feet off the ground, not on a tramp, he LOVES to run "fast" and throw everything and anything at everyone and anything. He is still a terrible eater and we are all constantly amazed he is as thick as he is, but he's thinning out. He's pretty good at communicating and talking, but also really good at rambling in incoherent jibber-jabber. Both are VERY cute.:) Now you can read on...

So, I'm officially in my second trimester...hallelujah. Landmark of happiness. That's right; 14 weeks baby. I'm so, so glad. So glad. For me, time just crawls when I'm pregnant. I found out at like 4 weeks; and i feel like it's totally just been snail pace. You wait for 5 weeks, then 6 weeks, then 7 weeks, then 8---you see what i mean? Not even in the double digits yet and it's already annoying. :) Don't I sound patient? well, I'm not.:) I got sick at 6 weeks with this one, instead of at 9 weeks like I was with Jax---and the nausea was a little worse than I remembered with Jax...so that might have added to the slow feeling of it all. But I'm pretty much not sick anymore, just hungry.:) BOO-YA. Second trimester rules. Anyway, just wanted to share my joy. Sorry about the naked picture below---I'm so excited about being 14 weeks i don't even care that I'm posting a naked picture on my blog. Plus it's discrete naked. Just be thankful it's a drawing and not the real thing---as in a side view of me naked...hehe, that would be bad...bad...;)

And, in case you couldn't tell, my baby is the size of a lemon.:) We are g-e-t-t-i-n-g there!

we're pretty cool

Justin and I went to Park City for the weekend (Thurs., Fri., got back today, Saturday). It was GREAT. In a word. Eating out every meal has got to be one of the best things ever; not being responsible for a child; hanging with my eternal companion. I've been looking forward to it for a LONG time. My AMAZING parents/family/GREAT grandparents Haight all made this possible by watching my cute little CRAZY baby. For 3 days!
THANK YOU!!!! You are the BEST!!!
Jax had a blast; didn't care one iota that I was gone. Seriously, when  I got back and we finally left to go back to our house with him; he just kept sadly and pathetically saying as we got in the car and drove away "mai mai....mai mai" (that is what he calls my mom) over and over, almost bringing himself to tears... He REALLY missed me.
Another happy thought:
We have 18 people in my extended family to buy Christmas presents for (excluding Justin, me and Jax). While we were in Park City we went to the outlets and SCORED. Got EVERYONE pretty darn cool presents, and dude; we got D-E-A-L-S. And so, now we are done. WHAT??!?! I've NEVER been done this early...But i'm NOT complaining. We are SO happy. We did so good. We were like the shopping masters--we were just on a roll the whole day. We basically shopped for like 10 hours, and we still liked each other after. How many women can say that about their husbands? I know, Justin is a cool shopper. A good trick to help if you have a problem getting your guy to go, and go with a smile, is to let him buy something for himself about every, oh, hour and 1/2...It's not the cheapest thing but you gotta weigh your priorities. :) j/k...kind of.
Anyway. We are PROUD. To bad we only think to take pictures of our son--hence none from our anniversary thing...sad.

Thanks again to my family--love you!

ps. If you don't go on a overnight-er for your anniversary--you should; give yourself a break. I highly doubt you wont like it...:)

Halloween pictures

Remember when my baby used to look like this?? I don't. sad. That was last halloween.
I just got done watching a video of it...sob. Cute little superman.

AND remember how last year Justin was Wolverine?

Well this year he decided not to mess up a good thing...you can see him in the background...:)
AND look at this cute little elephant!!!
I promise he is 20x cute-er (is that a word) in person. If that is possible. He looked SO cute. And i didn't get a bum shot of him, which is sad because there was padding in this costume and jax was a little tall and really got a wedgie from it. SO cute from the behind.... :)
The trunk-r-treat was right during his nap-time. This might help explain his overall look in most of these...
I actually dressed up this year. I was supposed to just be a asain person but it turned into the freaky asian from down-under. To bad i didn't do a closeup of my face---pretty scary! or my ears--sprayed with black spray. gross.

It was all pretty fun. Jax looked SO cute. I couldn't get enough. Like i say, the pictures suck. But we had a good time with him. We went and saw both grandparents that night to show him off. Grandparents are the BEST people to show your kid off to.

Remember when we went to St. George?

Oh wait, didn't blog about it. We went to St. George to go camping. However, in light of my vow, we (justin, me, and jax) didn't really camp; we hung with the campers by day, and slept in my Grandparents Judkins house by night. In a queen bed. in a room. with fans. bless me. And that is how it's done people.

Sadly, because of laziness and blah feeling i took only the pictures below. But my, are they good pictures.

This is how we found jax after looking away for like maybe 30 seconds. I can't say i didn't see it coming, but it was a HUGE mess. Good thing we werent really camping and could go wash the cloths later that night. That didn't stop jax from getting a pretty severe cold shower in the large fresh water spicket directly afterward. Don't worry, we let him play for awhile in his nasty puddle, cause i mean, the damage was done. No reason to stop the child when he will play by himself for a bit...But then he started drinking the water. It was irrigation water. I kind of  really hate that campground for a number of reasons...that is one. There were  puddle like lake things around alll the trees in the campground--the spickets CONSTANTLY just ran water to the tree's unless you ask specifically to have them turned off in your site. DUMB idea if you want kids under 4 at your camp ground NOT to get giardia. Ya, Jax might have that. what? yes, thanks stupid campground. (in the campgrounds defense--it was GEORGOUS down there...but that had way more to do with the location then the campground...lets be honest.) Anyway, ya, giardia. Jaxton's poop is progressivly getting more and more funky and frequent. In case you were wondering. I'm a little nervous about it...mostly because i DO NOT want to do a stool sample.
Here is my Angel...:)

In case you can't tell, he is having a BLAST. :)

See the stupid leaky spicket; Jax had his entire mouth around that thing and he was lapping up the water.

My dad was being nice to jax after the cold spicket shower we gave him. What a nice grandpa. :)

Look! Other people that aren't jax! See sometimes i do take pictures of other things...

Cross your fingers jaxton's poop starts to normalize...:)
hehe.

Here are some pictures since blogger sucks and i cant load my videos i was SO excited about...HATE it. blogger, i HATE blogger.

Jaxtons new corky thing he has started to do somtimes is try and clawl into small spaces. Which he can usually do, however, he cannot usually get himself back out.  So the other day i found him in this little place.  and nope, he couldn't get himself out of this one either--that smile didn't stay on there too long...poor kid. :)

This is Jaxton walking to church, i couldn't resisist snaping a picture with my phone becuase he was just walking with so much purpose and was really being pretty silly (refer to other picture below.) He doesn't like church-has a hard time, so it's extra cute and funny to me.

He is SO darn cute i cant even deal with it. Thank goodness i think he is so cute... the little stinker. ;)

Some portraits

These are some portraits my dad took back in the beginning of July; i'm totally on top of things...I cant tell you how convienent it is to have a dad that likes to take pictures with a nice camera, and actually does a good job. Oh gracias!
We had to give Jax candy every 30 seconds or so, you might be able to see some in some of these; so if your wondering, yes, he has candy in his mouth.  It was REALLY hard to get him to sit still. Almost impossible, we are lucky we got what we did.
Side note: I'm going to try to upload some video's of him..they are pretty funny. But, knowing me you might not see them for a couple of months. ;)
ps. Jax is 16 months old, when he went in for his appointment at 15 months he was 70% for weight, 80% for height, and over 100% for head size. :) Just wanted to document. I think he weighed 27lbs.
another ps. I put windsheild wipers on my car today all by myself. Bought the right size and everything. Go me.
pps. After confrence this week i'm putting jax in nursrey on sunday, even though he's not 18 months. I had like 3 people at church come and tell me it was okay last sunday. Could their comments have had something to do with his behavior? With his behavior every week? Who cares. Done. Tender mercies. Justin almost cried with joy. ;)
